Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are minimally invasive procedures used to treat painful vertebral compression fractures (VCF) in the spinal column. During vertebroplasty, a cement mixture is injected into the fractured bone through a hollow needle, using image guidance such as fluoroscopy.
